Josh,

(1) Looks like I'm not on the list of captains. Normally, I would say that was an oversite but I might also assume I've been "voted off the island.
(2) Can you post who is on our teams -- as a quick reminder.
(3) Everyone's scores from today would help too. :-)

Jess

ditto'ing jess. can't post scores without everyone's results. though i would imagine there are a LOT of results to post so we'll give him another hour or so before we really crack down hard on him....

I just wanted to hop on the blog and sent a quick shout out to my 7 AM peeps. Way to work! Once those lovely scores are posted you'll see why :)

No way Josh, I got 7:29, not 7:49!

Hey, check out this article I found on Sports Illustrated's website. They have a whole series on local sports...

FitWit Revolutionizes the Boot Camp
by Kyle Reese

In Atlanta, Josh Guerrieri has taken the boot camp style fitness program to new levels with his “Team Week” concept. Guerrieri’s company, FitWit, has been providing military-inspired circuit training to elite groups of athletes for several years now. He has taken the concept and turned it on its head with the introduction of “Team Week,” which Guerrieri describes as “the natural evolution of a great idea.”
“Team Week” splits the camp into small teams who compete against each other for points and, ultimately, prizes. On a cool Monday morning in early October, Guerrieri points out a team of three and goes over their scores.
Team Awesome, as they are known, is made up of Dawn R., Sinead, and Todd from the 6 am camp. “These guys are animals,” says Guerrieri. “The only question I have about their performance is: How many awards will they win?” Guerrieri, a three time decathlete champion, waxes on about Team Awesome’s performance, “Look at this, they come out here on the first day and put up 79 big points. The other teams have their work cut out for them.” He shakes his head with astonishment and checks the team’s scores for errors that might make their Herculean feat a little more human. He finds none.
Boot camp programs have always been innovative, but Guerrieri proves that even a great concept can be improved upon. It’s obvious that he truly believes his motto: “Routine is the enemy.” You can catch Guerrieri at Grant Park or at Southside High School most mornings, whipping Atlantans into shape, one push-up at a time.

Team Andrea K/Colleen/Erin total:

75 pts.

I know Tina said she'd do it, but that's a lot of work and I don't think it will really get her into heaven (since she's already in of course).

Jess - Thanks for making up such inspired and inspiring team names.

I like the one you made up for my team ok, but I think my favorites so far are:

"Team Mighty Morphin Flower Arrangers" and
"Team Running with Scissors"

Richard and Jennifer said...

Jess, well done on the team names.

Team Former Child Athletes has a score of 68.

Team 5, a.k.a. Team Small Test Icicles scored a whopping 78 points! But on our team name...ummm...thanks so much Jess but not sure it truly fits all team members. I think we have more of a Team Mod Squad vibe going on.

Team Kick Ass (James, Felicia and Caroline) has a total of 78 points. Where do we collect or medals and/or laurel wreaths?

Or, wait, is this one of those things where we walk off with a comically oversized check? Because we're ok with that too.

Jess B. said...

Sorry, Nan. :-) Team Mod Squad is a fine name.

It may be hard to beleive, but I actually toned down a few of the names. The original name I had for 7:00am Team one was not "Team Hamsters and Tubes 4 fun". It was a bit more obvious with "Team Hamsters and Tubes and wha... OH MY!!!"

Whoops! :-) Family site... move along please. Nothing to see here.
