That's easy to say
For a guy who jogged all day
Try sprinting - it's fun!

Like many people I made a new years resolution to take better care of my self in 2007. Unlike most I actually have been able to keep that promise. Without the support I’ve received from Josh, Mario and Angie as well as my fellow boot campers and now Cynthia I’d never been able to do it. The past nine months have been life changing.

I started in January of this year. I believe I rated my fitness level somewhere in the seven range when I first signed up. After completing the dynamic warm and sucking so much wind I could have created my own vortex I started thinking that I may have overestimated my fitness level. Then the real fun began, the other newbie’s and I were assessed. I thought my lungs were going to explode during the seventeen touch drill (Don’t worry you will get introduced to it when we move back inside) not to mention how my legs, arms, abs, shoulders and other muscles I’d forgotten about long ago were crippling sore everyday. I thought parts of my body were just going to fall off and at times I figured it would just fill better if they did. I’d like to send a personal thank you to the makers of Advil. Without them I’m not sure if I would have made through the first few weeks.

After successfully completing my first camp I was disappointed that I’d not dropped a pound of weight!! How could that be I asked my self? I’d kept that damn food log, followed the advice of the nutritionist, showed up every day and listened to those always happy instructors. How could I still be at the same weight?? When I learned that I dropped 3% off my body fat and reduced my waist line by two inches I figured that these freaks might be on to something.

Fast Forward nine months and I don’t know how many miles I’ve ran , how many burpies I’ve cursed, or how many times I thought what the hell can this band of torturous hooligans come up with next? (For the record I hate and I do mean HATE the Mile and the Jessica). There have been many days that I just did not fill like doing one more or two more or ten seconds more and someone has called me out or just given me that little bit of personal motivation to keep going. It’s the entire group, the newbie’s the vets and the so-called “super-vets” and of course those afore mentioned hooligans who keep coming up with different ways to keep it “fun and interesting” and keep me coming back for more. Without all of you guys I’d not been able to keep that promise to take better care of my self in 2007.

The one person who I’ve never had the opportunity to meet and thank personally but who has had large part in my success this year is Karen (nutritionist). She has helped me tweak my diet has added what seems to be mountains of protein and fields of vegetables to my diet. She has also has let me know that it’s ok to eat that piece of pie or that bowl of ice cream as long as it’s in balance with my overall food intake. If you haven’t been using Karen you are missing the information that will help transform your body and help you reach your goals.

To Date: Reduced Body fat from 29% to 19%
Reduced Weight from 239 to 222
Reduced waist from 40 to 36
Ran my first 5K ever!! Did I mention that I HATE running!!!

Just kidding big fella. As if seeing our faces every morning wasn't enough validation for you, the shout outs from folks like Bryan, Tonya and Todd oughtta let you know that we appreciate what you and the FitWit team have done for us.

Much love and encouragement to all you campers next week. My family is headed down to Florida for the week, where there's nothing but rest, relaxation and a tropical depression brewing in the Gulf.

Dammit.
