I've mapped out 2 routes for our Saturday run - we decided that we would do 2 different loops (to prevent boring repetition) but that it would be "figure 8" mentality so that we can stop and drop the lower mileage people off before we finish off the 9 miles.
8:30 a.m. start time. Let's meet in FRONT of Serap's loft complex in Reynoldstown/Cabbagetown - so Park on Wylie St in front of Milltown lofts.
Call us if needed if you haven't been before - 404.509.1032 is my #.
791 wylie st, unit 401
It's easiest to turn onto Pearl from Wylie St and then turn Left on to Field and go through the first Pedestrian entrance at the back using the gate code #8056 - Serap's unit is then the building all the way to the left and at the back.
This is how we're breaking up the 9 miles:
Loop 1 = 5 Miles (yes - you 4 milers last week are bumping up a mile, too)

Loop 2 = 4 Miles

If only I could figure out a way to have the map on my wrist like a QB....Jess, you wanna memorize it and play QB for us? :) :) :) I did try to keep it pretty simple - Loop 1 is essentially a loop in Cabbagetown and then up to L5P and back. Loop 2 is a big square - again, i was going for simple as I don't know how we're going to keep tons of turns in our head - Serap, if you want to play with that Route, feel free (I'm not sure how good the running will be along some of those streets) - I'm hoping the 2nd route is kind of flat-ish - that said, we're in Atlanta - nothing is flat.
Next week - I think I may suggest that we use the "Path" and run to Decatur and back - that's a great thing to run on - we can have a car dropped for the people who are doing less distance, too.

Slight update - we are now meeting in front of the Milltown Lofts - so park on Wylie Street and we'll just meet in front instead (Serap's fiance will be sleeping so we don't want to wake him up by barging in!)
I'm starting a running club too.... running of the mouth that is! I've already signed up Jill and Jelena as I'm sure they will be star performers. I've got a nice long route planned that takes us past several gripe zones and streets of generally caustic language. Should be a blast!
So, if you find yourself struggling in this area (I'm looking at you, Ron) then feel free to join us. You'll be a well-oiled smartass in no time at all. Heck, I'm already bestowing the first Super Vet award to Jill without even so much as showing up at a single practice. She's that good, folks! :-)
I'll send the route as soon as I get off the phone. :-)
props to everyone who came out this a.m. - we had a big turnout of 15!

Jelena, thanks for organizing this. Michelle, the girls and I all really enjoyed. it. See you next week!
To all would-be runners - we can accomdate all running speeds on the short, Wednesday runs. Come on out and we will work with you. Thanks Jelena for being the "Pied Piper". Dawn
I'm enjoying my day off...
I had a great time and I'd like to join in thanking Jelena for organizing the Running Club. Both Jake and I loved it. (He's now following me around the house, waiting for the next run.)
