That song that goes, "I need a hero---I'm holdin out for a hero til the end of the night..." I think that's how it goes. I'm not sure of the name or artist, so maybe someone can help me out.
The guys called me and asked me to put in their picks:
Jerome -- "You are the wind beneath my wings" by Bette Midler (what can I say, the man is a big Bette Midler fan) Bryan -- "Beat it" by Michael Jackson (chosen for obvious reasons) Greg -- "Valley Girl" by Frank Zappa (chosen for some personal reason only Greg knows) Mark -- "Kung Fu Fighting" by Carl Douglas (chosen because Bruce Lee here doesn't know the difference between a soccer game and a martial arts tourney)
Also, I had to share this. I found the most frightening picture on the web this weekend. I have to warn you, though, that this is not for the faint of heart or the weak-stomached. Scary stuff, indeed.
I tend to make fun of some of the fellow campers once in a while - the advantage I have since I am a geek and a slacker with a vivid imagination (thanks to all my fantasy comics growing up) and a great sense of humor (to make up for the lack in my looks).
I'm not as smart as Greg with all the funky haikus and can never aspire to be an athlete like Jerome, so therefore, to be liked by y'all, I use my precious hours at work to add some commentaries on the blog.
I thought as my 1 year aniversary of fitwitting with this camp, that I would share some of my progress. I am so grateful for Josh's approach towards fitness...a year ago, I could barely touch my toes and look at me now!!!
damn, i don't check the blog all day and i miss a lot of entertainment!!!
alan already got my alltime fave - eye of the tiger.
ramones - i wanna be sedated.
josh - i'll bring you a copy of the mix i made for the breast cancer 3Day - it was music in the same vein as the requests here (minus the tiffany/bette midler/cher fabulosity). you can pull whatever you want off it.
I asked my 6-year old for recommendations and he suggested: - Since U Been Gone by Kelly Clarkson - Umbrella by Rhianna - Jingle Bells
However, I think I will go back a few years and vote for - Runnin' with the Devil by Van Halen (we know who the devil is) - Back in Black, AC/DC...you can never go wrong with AC/DC!
Jess, how about selecting something from your vast Barry Manilow collection? (p.s. Sorry about your leg)
I love all the 80's stuff... clearly we are showing our age here. My vote is for Lil John "Get Low", because that is what I am singing to myself when I do squats, and Mary J Blige "No More Drama", because it makes me wanna shake my bootie.
I didn't realize that we get two requests--and Kanye doesn't count b/c Tina said it first. I definitely need a little Soujaboy "Crank That". Y'all can thank me later.

Kanye West "Stronger"
AK -
is that the song " I need a hero . . . and he's to be strong and he's got to be ? and he's got to be larger than life?"
sorry - not much help.
I second Tina. My personal request is for "Sexyback" by my boyfriend, JT.
Lose Yourself -Eminem
Under Pressure -David Bowie

Congrats to Jeromeo and Andrea on the little clone!
Jess, I checked iTunes and couldn't find any Tiffany songs for you. I've got a source who will check on the Debbie Gibson anthology you asked about.
All of a sudden, I don't want kids anymore. Best birth control I've ever seen!
ok, so that song you guys want i believe it was in footloose...and then a remix was in a recent commercial. its bonnie tyler.
and greg...that song totally got me pumped when i was a kid...i believe it might have been the reason i started karate.
also i think we need to challenge that other bootcamp...bootcamp olympics
Gnarles Barkley 'Crazy' because let's be honest, we're a crazy bunch and I wouldn't have it any other way!
Intergalactic -- Beastie Boys
This Is How We Do It -- Montell Jordan
Wow Meredith - way to bring Montell Jordan back!

Yeah- That's it. Bonnie Tyler- I need a hero. Sweet hair. Thanks Greg.
Who signed me into the work account again?!

I hate to break away from the 80's big-hair-band theme, but you've got to include "I Feel Good" by the fabulous James Brown.
In addition, not to be too radical and suggest something semi-current, but "Soul Meets Body" would be another fine choice.
My second pick:
Night at the Roxbury - "What is Love"
That song summarizes my clubbing experiences.
oops...forgot to put my requests:
1. Hangin' Tough (New Kids on the Block) - "Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, just hangin tough, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, hangin tough."
2. Dancing on the Ceiling (Lionel Richie) - "People were starting to climb the walls. Ooh, it looks like everybody is having a ball"
Yeah Baby!!!
Hah! Nice job changing your user name to Jess B., Greg. :-)

G*licious...you sly devil...not only can you amaze us with your prose, but you are also a master on the computer...well done my friend!!!
Whoops! My bad. 'Twas Jeromeo getting even with me for my previous post.
Sorry, Greg. Nice job, Jerome. :-)

Well,
My picks will probably show my maturity level (or lack thereof) ...
1. "Feeling This" - Blink 182
2. "Stupid Kid" - Alkaline Trio
Yeah ... even though I'm old, I still wanna be punk.
I love all the 80's stuff... clearly we are showing our age here. My vote is for Lil John "Get Low", because that is what I am singing to myself when I do squats, and Mary J Blige "No More Drama", because it makes me wanna shake my bootie.
1. Rihanna- please don't stop the music
2. Pump up the Jam
3. Jess's favorite- Crocodile Rock by Elton John
Actually, I think it would be cool to have "Thunder" by Nuttin' But Strinz.
Make that "Nuttin' But Stringz"
I didn't realize that we get two requests--and Kanye doesn't count b/c Tina said it first. I definitely need a little Soujaboy "Crank That". Y'all can thank me later.
whoopsie daisies, it's actually SouLjaboy
Jess, you just "outed" yourself as a watcher of JACK's BIG MUSIC SHOW. Just for you, I'll download it and put it on a CD!
What about Spybreak by Propellerhead?
Then kick it old school with Jungle Boogie by Kool and the Gang
I forgot about Fergie ... Fergalicious needs to be on there
"My body stay vicious, I be up in the gym just workin on my fitness, fergalicious"
Good call, Tina.
