Why I Missed Camp: I got home from work around 2 am- we're working towards a deadline today. Just before I left work last night, a co-worker that lives in my complex called to tell me that she couldn't find a spot in one of the 2 main gated parking lots and that I need to park in the gated overflow lot across the street. So when I got home, I just pulled into the overflow lot, behind some other guy, parked my car, and walked to my apartment. 6:25 rolled around and as much as I might not have wanted to wake up, I finally did, thinking, "It's team week, I have to go." So I got ready, walked across the street to the lot, punched in the code on the pedestrian gate, got in my car, pulled up to the gate, and it wouldn't open. So I tried my clicker, pushing the button unrelentlessly hoping that if I pushed it just the right way, the gate would finally open. I sat there for another 10 minutes, hoping someone would come to free me, although not many people use that lot. So now that my hopes of making it to bootcamp were gone, I had to decide how I could get to work: walk, taxi, MARTA. I did have a lot of work to do and could use the 2 hour head start on the day. Unfortunately, I knew my coworker would not be heading to work for another couple hours, so the best idea I could come up with, that would get me to work the fastest, was to run the 1 + miles to work. Can you believe that was the best idea I could come up with? Fortunately, I work in a place where the dress code is about up to the level of a convenience store, so one day at work in some workout clothes wouldn't actually get me too many odd looks. So here I am- sitting in an architecture office in gym clothes, and mad that I missed boot camp during team week, especially after making it all the way to my car with every intention of going. Oh well. Maybe I can get Josh to count the run for my mile time.

Thanks Jess, I can't believe AKAV (who is that anyway) had the audacity to try and pull the wool over this gang when EVERYONE knows that those gates open automatically when you're on the inside. I'm glad you didn't let her off the hook any easier than you did me.

Andrea speaks the truth!!!! I live a few doors down from her and I am always having difficulty opening that darn gate! I just can't believe that you actually ran to work. I would have seeked that as an opportunity to call in sick. They never open for me when I come back from camp and I have to park in the street, thus making me run behind for work! Do we have an electrician in the group that can fix this for us?
oh yeah, Jess get back to work and stop doodling.........slacker!

Tabata on 9/22 was 6 PU and 7 SU, Tabata on 11/12 was 10 PU and 13 SU
That's a 4 rep improvement on the PU and 6 rep improvement on the SU. Does that mean my team gets 10 points for my improvement? If so...SAY WORD!

as for the thread, i have no witty comments as to why i missed camp this morning. i could say that i got crushed into the board at hockey last night and my back is absolutely swelled to the point where i can't tie my shoes...as much as it is true, we all know that i would still have showed up and worked up a good sweat. saddly, work does seem to get into the way of fun or pain (whichever way you look at it)...
now josh, if i run this gauntlet by myself on wednesday - would my score count (i.e. if the tree falls in the forest...)

We are only giving bonus points for the 800 - so tell me the name of the person, how much they improved and how many points that equals. I do have a job, so scores will be posted tonight. I hope. And I have to do stupid math to turn 1/7's into decimal points. Geez people, I am attorney because I found math boring....

TK - On the 11/12/07 blog it says that points are given for each rep improvement in tabata. Tabata- I quote "Last done on Sept. 18
1 pt. for every 1 rep improvement over your best tabata score ever." My running won't get me extra points so I gots to use my other strengths to get some points up there for "Steamin Teamin" :)
sorry - there were problems using the tabata scores. Don't worry - lots of opportunities to win extra points.

Sorry I don't have any fun photos to publish like Jess, but I do have a 15 second improvement over my last 800m time. That should earn us another 2 points, right?
TK - representin' Team 5 from 6am....if we are only getting improvement points for the 800 m run, here are our bonus points that i have been able to determine:
- Todd, improved 17 sec: 2 pts
- Jelena, improved 4 sec: 1 pt
- Mark, improved 8 sec: 1 pt
- and COTENA, improved 33 sec: 4 pts!!!!
for a total of 8 bonus points!!!

Here I ran the numbers for Team One (as of yet un-named),comprised of the lovely ladies, Lauren, Victoria, Andrea and Lisa "Jackie Onassis" Bur, featuring the less lovely Blair and G-licious.
When you ran the first numbers to give us a team average of 16.5, you did not factor in Blair's scores (he went to 6 PM that day) or the time improvements for the 800m run (I bettered my time by 1 point).
Our new team average is a whopping 17.1.
BTW, after spending nearly 20 minutes trying to calculate and research all of this crap, I have a healthy new respect for your efforts in coordinating this. Tell Josh to give you a raise! See you tonight at the Grille for the Heels' first game.

My team (#6, 7am)gets mad points for my improvements. My 10/22 800 meter was 4:32, this week it was 4:01. 3 points, no? Also, don't know about all time, but my 9/18 Tibata was 18-10-10, and this week was 17-3-3, so that's another 6 points, right? For a total of 9 improvement points from me alone? How's my 'rithmatic, TK?

Oops! Bad at typing. Also math. My Tabata scores for this week are a (fairly respectable) 17-13-13, not the previously stated (and laughably pathetic) 17-3-3.
This careful attention to detail is what makes me such a fine attorney. Now seeking new clients....
